This is for you if

  • You've been told to look at inositol and want the 40:1 ratio rather than myo-inositol alone
  • You want CoQ10, active folate and inositol in one pack rather than four separate bottles
  • You're a male partner with abnormal sperm parameters looking at antioxidant support
  • You'd rather address the metabolic side of fertility alongside timing and tracking

Details

How to take it

Take one yellow inositol and folate tablet in the morning with breakfast. In the evening with dinner, take one white CoQ10, magnesium and vitamin D capsule and one orange amino acid and antioxidant tablet. That's three items daily, split across two meals, for 30 days per pack.

Inositol generally takes time to show an effect. Most research on PCOS and cycle regularity looks at a window of around three months, so it's worth planning for a sustained run rather than judging it after a few weeks.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C, away from direct sunlight.

Worth knowing

InsuMax-Q is a nutritional supplement, not a medicine. It isn't intended to diagnose, treat or cure any condition, and its safety and efficacy have not been evaluated by SAHPRA.

Inositol is generally well tolerated. Some people notice mild digestive upset, nausea or headache when starting, particularly at higher doses, and this often settles. Speak to your doctor before starting if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, taking diabetes or thyroid medication, on any prescription medication, or managing a diagnosed condition. If you're already taking a prenatal supplement, check the combined folate intake so you're not doubling up unintentionally.

PCOS is the most common cause of ovulatory infertility, and it's also one of the least clearly explained. Most people leave a diagnosis appointment with a name for what's happening and very little sense of what to actually do about it, beyond losing weight, which is advice that lands particularly badly when insulin resistance is part of why the weight is hard to shift in the first place.

Inositol is one of the few interventions in that space with a decent evidence base behind it, and the reason we stock InsuMax-Q specifically is the formulation. The 40:1 ratio is the one the research uses. The folate is the active form rather than standard folic acid. The CoQ10 is at a dose that means something. And it arrives as one pack rather than as four separate purchases you have to research and assemble yourself.

It sits alongside the rest of what we do rather than replacing any of it. Tracking still matters. Timing still matters. But if your cycles are irregular or you're not ovulating reliably, timing is a harder thing to get right, and this works on the part upstream of that.

- Myo-inositol and D-chiro inositol in the researched 40:1 ratio
- CoQ10, active folate, magnesium and vitamin D3 in one 30-day pack- -- Used for PCOS, insulin resistance and male sperm parameters

Frequently asked

About InsuMax-Q

What is InsuMax-Q used for?

InsuMax-Q is a nutritional supplement that supports normal glucose metabolism. It's most commonly used by people managing conditions linked to insulin resistance, including PCOS, and by people trying to conceive who want to support hormone balance and cycle regularity. It's also used by men with abnormal sperm parameters (OATS).

How do I take InsuMax-Q?

One yellow inositol and folate tablet in the morning with breakfast. One white CoQ10, magnesium and vitamin D capsule plus one orange amino acid and antioxidant tablet in the evening with dinner. Each pack is a 30-day supply.

What are the ingredients in InsuMax-Q?

The yellow tablet contains 1000mg myo-inositol, 25mg D-chiro inositol, 500µg active folate (Extrafolate-S), 25mg vitamin B6 and 25µg vitamin B12. The white capsule contains 150mg CoQ10, 150mg magnesium and 1000 IU vitamin D3. The orange tablet is an amino acid and antioxidant combination. It's Halaal certified by SANHA.

How long does it take to work?

Inositol isn't a fast-acting supplement. Most of the research on PCOS, cycle regularity and ovulation looks at outcomes over roughly three months, so plan for a sustained run rather than expecting changes within the first few weeks.

Are there side effects?

Inositol is generally well tolerated. Some people experience mild nausea, digestive upset or headache when starting, which often settles. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, on diabetes or thyroid medication, taking any prescription medication, or managing a diagnosed condition, speak to your doctor before starting.

Can men take InsuMax-Q?

Yes. It's used by men with abnormal sperm parameters, sometimes described as OATS (oligoasthenoteratozoospermia). The CoQ10, antioxidants and inositol content are the relevant parts for sperm quality. Sperm takes roughly three months to develop, so as with female fertility, a three-month run is the realistic timeframe.

Can I take InsuMax-Q with a prenatal supplement?

Usually yes, but check the labels together. InsuMax-Q already contains 500µg of active folate, vitamin D and B vitamins, so if your prenatal contains the same nutrients you may be taking more than you need. Your doctor or pharmacist can advise on the combination.

Does InsuMax-Q help with weight loss?

It isn't a weight-loss product. It supports glucose metabolism, and for people whose weight is affected by insulin resistance, improved insulin sensitivity can make other efforts more effective. It works alongside diet and activity rather than instead of them.

Can I take it if I have PCOS but I'm not trying to conceive?

Yes. Many people take inositol for cycle regularity, energy and metabolic support independently of TTC. The formulation isn't fertility-specific.

Where can I buy InsuMax-Q in South Africa?

Here, delivered nationwide in 2 to 3 business days. It's also stocked at some pharmacies. We carry it because it fits alongside the rest of what we do, and because most people who find us with a PCOS diagnosis are looking for exactly this.
